In winter the Berchtesgadener Land comes alive to the sounds of ice-skating, sledding and ice-curling.

The locals have long proved themselves as winter sports champions around the world. It is also here that world championships in bobsled and luge-racing are held at Königssee: sports which you can try out yourself here or simply come to watch.

The world's best snowboarders and alpine skiers make Berchtesgaden a regular stop and have even used it for their world championships and world cup.

You can purchase a single ski pass in all of the six ski resorts in the region (Hochschwarzeck, Götschen, Jenner, Obersalzberg, Rossfeld and Zinken / Rottenlift). However, it is worth buying the common Berchtesgadener Land ski pass for all six ski resorts in the region, either for three or six days, which also includes the bus that runs between the Oberau and Rossfeld lifts and a four-hour visit to the Watzmann Therme (without Sauna) are included.

Don't forget to always have your guest card with you, which you will receive when you arrive at the guest house. With it you get discounts practically everywhere and the ski pass for three or six days is not sold without this card.
