Bob Raft & Bobsled at Königsee
On the very track where the bobsled and luge champions of the world race against one another to gain a hundredth of a second, you can also experience the rush and thrill of a bobsled ride.
There is a special bobsled, known as the "Kini-bobberl",
its length is almost that of a 4-man bobsled, its speed close to that of a locomotive and is as much fun as a roller coaster.
The visitor's bobsledding can only be booked through the tourist office of Schönau am Königssee. All you need is a pair of gloves and a little courage. The difference of elevation from start to finish is about 110 m (360 ft) and the total length of the run is 1300 m (4265 ft). Participation is at your own risk!
Race down the ice canal with 120 km per hour and feel the pressure in the curves on your own body. Be once a co-pilot in the formula one of wintersports and feel the cool wind which streams around the helmets of the professionals at world championships and large international events - courageous winter sport athletes can experience it from October to March at the artificial bobsledtrack at the Königsee near Berchtesgaden.
You are riding in an original racebob with an experienced pilot on the worldcup and worldchampions' track through the 1.200 meter ice canal at the foot of the Watzman mountain.
On weekends from mid-October to the end of February, the bobsleigh-Taxi (www.rennbob-taxi.de) is for the more adventurous.
Since summer 2014 we have been offering bobsleigh in the warm season too!
When the ice has melted and the bobsleigh run at the foot of the Watzmann has turned into a concrete channel, the bobsleigh pilots screw wheels under their racing bobsleigh and start on the original race track.
