Pension Bergbah is located in the Bavarian Alps in the town Ramsau on the border to the National Park Berchtesgaden (Nationalpark Berchtesgaden), with wonderful views of three mountain peaks in Bavaria: Watzmann - the highest mountain in Bavaria 2713 m Hohkalter, and between them is a mountain Palfelhorn.
Our Pension is at the beginning of the famous Alpine road.
Near the pension flow together two mountain rivers Wimbach and Ramsauer Ache. Day and night, through the open windows our guests can heard the sound of running water.
200 m from the pension beginns the Wimbach valley, with a unique waterfall and gorge Wimbachklamm, under the protection of UNESCO.
Here beginns a lot of walking and biking routs, which are available all year, in summer and in winter, ski routes and even for climbing.
Within 20 km from the guest house is located 6 ski lifts, for them usually you can buy a single ski pass for 3 or 6 days, which includes also the 4-hour visit of thermae. The total length of the routes is more than 60 km. These are resorts like: Jenner, Goetschen, Rossfeld, Gutshof-Obersalzberg, Zinken-Duerrnberg and the closest to the Pensions lift Hochschwarzeck (7 km).
In the Berchtesgaden and Konigssee district there are many toboggan run. The nearest to the our Pensions is a Rodelban Hirshek. This toboggan run is 2.3 km long in 2012, the winner of the test conducted by ADAC - 7 minutes from our guesthouse by car. There is also a summer toboggan run.
7km away from our guesthouse located a lake Hintersee - a small beautiful lake, so pure and peaceful.
Like a green jewel, tucked away in a nature protection area, lies the crystal clear mountain lake of Thumsee. In summer a popular swimming lake and in winter a favorite spot for ice skating and ice curling.
Not far from our guest house located a sheep farm, which sells cheese, chocolate, soap made from sheep's milk, a variety of wool from sheep's wool (shop open in summer), a bakery, a butcher with regional homemade products. Berchtesgaden region is known for its eco-friendly milk products, known in the whole Germany under the brand Berchtesgadener Land, in restaurants you can taste the specialties of this area fish saybling (Saibling) from the lake Koenigssee.
After spending your holidays in Berchtesgaden you will take along unforgettable moments! Whether your are engaged in sports or are just relaxing, you will spend an unforgettable days in the Alps in one of the most beautiful sceneries you can dream of.
From our pension you can easy reach such cities as Berchtesgaden (7 km), the capital of the region with a Royal Palace and famous for its salt mines in Bad Reichenhall (20 km) with a complex of old salt factory (Alte Saline) and oldest Europe's funicular Predigstulbahn and romantic Salzburg (25 km). You should also visit the residence Eagle's Nest (Kehlsteinhaus). Here goes the highest panoramic road in Germany - Rossfeld Panoramastrasse
There are five ski lifts within a 20 km radius of the guest house, for which you can usually buy a single ski pass for three or six days, which also includes four one-hour visits to the Watzmann thermal baths (without sauna). The total length of the ski slopes is more than 50 km. These include health resorts such as Jenner, Götschen, Rossfeld, Gutshof-Obersalzberg and the Hochschwarzeck lift closest to the guesthouse (7 km away). Tourists who travel without their own car have the option of using public transport; the bus network in the region is extremely well developed. The bus schedules can be found at www.rvo-bus.de. You can also use tourist buses that go in different directions every day. Most excursions do not last longer than a day. You can inquire about the departure times of these buses at the tourist information office (100 m from the guest house). A stop for public transport and tourist buses is right next to the guest house.
