Hochschwarzeck

Hochschwarzeck

When you arrive at the Hirscheck, a unique view awaits you at an altitude of 1390 m, which lets you experience the breathtaking beauty of nature, green alpine meadows and the bizarre fascination of massive mountain ranges.

As if painted by an artist's hand in the blue summer sky, huge rocks open up to the viewer: The Hohe Göll, the Hohe Brett, the Jenner, the Schneibstein, the legendary Watzmann massif, the Hochkalter with the Blaueis Glacier and the Reiteralpen.

After a long rest on this magnificent high plateau or in the Hirschkaser mountain restaurant with a hearty snack and cool refreshment, it is worth taking a walk to the "Toter Mann" viewpoint, which is about 20 minutes away and where, according to legend, a Ramsau hiker in the winter months despite warnings from his friends set out and found death in a sudden snowstorm.

Since then, the ridge between Berchtesgaden and Ramsau has been called "Toter Mann". There is also one of the 6 stations of the Ramsau saga and fairy tale trail. From here the view extends far beyond the Berchtesgaden valley to the Mozart city of Salzburg.

After these unique impressions, it is up to the hiker to either take the chairlift comfortably and relaxed down into the valley or to end this eventful day in the middle of the mountain world of the Berchtesgaden Alps with a walk of around an hour and a half on shady forest roads along the Ramsau Valley.
