Berchtesgaden National Park is located in the southeast of Germany, in Bavaria and adjoining the Austrian Salzburg region. Founded in 1978, the park includes an area of 210 square kilometres and is owned by the federal state of Bavaria. In addition, the park is the core and buffer zone of the biosphere reserve Berchtesgadener Land.

Pension Bergbah is located in the Bavarian Alps in the town Ramsau on the border to the National Park Berchtesgaden (Nationalpark Berchtesgaden), with wonderful views of three mountain peaks in Bavaria: Watzmann - the highest mountain in Bavaria 2713 m, Hohkalter and between them is a mountain Palfelhorn.

In addition to the well-known Königssee, you will also find several other mountain lakes around Pension Bergbach, which are definitely worth a visit.

There is snow on the Watzmann all year round. Ice fields are forming, including the Watzmann glacier. The large ice cave or ice chapel is extremely popular with tourists, among other things because of its easy accessibility from the St. Bartholomä station on the Königssee.
